Hand-painted silk challah cover – Shabbat Joy
Delicate pastel washes, bright hummingbirds and flowers surround the Hebrew words “Shabbat Shalom.” The birds give the composition a sense of movement, while the softer background keeps the overall feeling light and peaceful.
The story behind the design
I wanted this design to feel joyful without overwhelming the table. It works beautifully with simple Shabbat table settings and makes an expressive, personal gift for a wedding or a new home.
Hand-painted in Jerusalem
I paint each challah cover individually on silk in my Jerusalem studio. The color becomes part of the fabric, and slight variations are natural to a handmade piece. This is original hand-painted textile art, not a mass-produced print.
